This website belongs to an organisation of Disabled People, so accessibility is not a legal afterthought here. It is the point.
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 AA across this site. In practice that means: every page can be navigated by keyboard and by voice. Content is structured for screen readers, with meaningful headings and descriptive alternative text. Animations respect your reduced-motion settings, and nothing plays sound without your say-so. Colour contrast meets or exceeds the standard. Text can be resized to 200 percent without breaking the layout.
We built this site ourselves, and we test it with the assistive technology we use in our own lives, including speech recognition and screen readers.
If something on this site does not work with your access setup, that is a barrier we created, and we want to remove it. Tell us at info@srvdpo.org.uk and we will fix it. We treat access reports as contributions to the organisation: if you are a member, reporting one earns Criptos.
The social model of disability says people are disabled by barriers, not by their bodies. That applies to websites too. This statement is our commitment to practising what we campaign for.
